Luke Sweeney
Senior analyst, battery recycling analytics
Luke joins us after working for five years developing direct recycling techniques for end-of-life commercial EV batteries. With a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of East Anglia and a PhD in Lithium-ion-battery recycling from the University of Birmingham, meaning he has a deep knowledge of battery technologies and recycling techniques. Luke has previously worked as an LIB recycling consultant at Benchmark Minerals and as a research associate developing solvent-free, selective metal extraction from EOL cathodes. At Fastmarkets Luke leads the battery recycling long and short-term forecasts and is in regular contact with recyclers across the globe, staying up to date with the recycling market dynamics.
