Catherine Zhang is a Vice President and responsible for LME Business Development based in Hong Kong SAR. Ms. Zhang has more than 17 years of financial experience in both Mainland China and Hong Kong SAR by starting her career at China Guangfa Bank in Beijing. Since joining HKEX Group in 2013, she has been performing multiple roles in commodity sector covering sales and marketing as well as derivatives products development. Currently she manages regional clients in Greater China for the LME, with a focus on financial and physical institutions who are active in non-ferrous and EV markets. Ms. Zhang holds M.Phil from Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Dr. Gangfeng Liu is an expert in waste power battery recycling and recycling, catalyst precious metal recovery, spodumene lithium extraction, solid waste treatment and resource recycling research, including metallurgical tailings treatment and comprehensive utilization, recovery of precious metals and rare earths, XRT and XRF sorting, and basic research on electrical crushing. He participated in research of new and efficient dry coal preparation technology with the Ministry of Science and Technology focused on large-scale direct liquefaction of coal. He has led large R&D teams focused on recycling precious metals, waste batteries, lithium slag, and preparation of high-quality lithium materials, with multi-million-dollar technology development funds. He has published multiple papers in international conferences and journals and won multiple provincial and municipal awards.

Currently, he is working as the Head of Sustainability at Nickel Industries Limited, an Australian public company emerging as a globally significant, low-cost nickel producer.
