Walter Czarnecki serves as Chief Commercial Officer for Arcadium Lithium, a global leading manufacturer of lithium chemicals for electric vehicles and industrial applications. He serves on Arcadium’s Executive Leadership Team and oversees a $1bn+ USD P&L and global sales and R&D teams. Walter has global responsibility for sales, business development, pricing and product innovation. Previously, Walter served as CEO of OmniMetrix, a leader in IoT remote monitoring solutions for industrial assets including batteries. During his tenure, sales tripled, gross margins improved to 60%, and customer experience ratings reached their highest levels in company history. He began his career at Lehman Brothers Investment Banking in New York. Walter holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Bucknell. He is professionally proficient in Mandarin Chinese.

He has almost 20 years of experience covering Alternative Energy. He joined UBS from BAML in 2015. Notable research includes UBS Battery Teardown series. UBS has analyzed nickel and iron batteries from all incumbents in this signature bi-annual report. Tim holds degrees from Cornell University / NYU Stern and is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Carsten Obermann specialized in the field of lithium-ion batteries and could gather experience along the whole battery value chain in various positions since 2017. Having worked at automotive OEMs, battery cell manufacturers and on battery recycling, he is currently driving Gotion’s ambitious strategic expansion plans outside of China. For the European market, he especially focuses on establishing Gotion’s manufacturing and recycling footprint. He holds a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration from RWTH Aachen and studied MBA programs at Yonsei University in Korea and at NTUST in Taiwan.

David Gartside is a partner in the Seoul Foreign Legal Consultant Office of Milbank LLP and member of the firm’s Global Projects, Energy and Infrastructure Finance Group. He has been practicing in the Asia Pacific region for more than 20 years and he leads the firm’s Korea project and energy finance practice from Seoul. David has extensive experience advising sponsors, utilities, contractors, commercial lenders, infrastructure funds, export credit agencies, multilateral agencies and development banks on major international projects and project financings across a wide variety of sectors, including power, mining and metals, oil and gas (including LNG), petrochemical and transportation and social infrastructure. In addition to his project finance work, David regularly advises clients on corporate financings, acquisitions, restructurings and asset financings.
