He studied chemistry with chemical process engineering and environmental technology at the University of Aachen with a degree in engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) in 1996, before he successfully completed a training a chemical laboratory assistant at RWTH Aachen / Germany with a professional qualification in 1990. In 1998 Dirk joined Elektrowerk Weisweiler GmbH as an assistant to the environmental officer and the laboratory manager, since 2000 he is the sole Environmental Officer with the commissioner functions for water protection, pollution control and waste disposal ; since 2002 he is the sole Laboratory manager and Environmental / Sustainability Officer and Quality management representative of the company; since 2012 in addition Head of the «Analytical Services» department with worldwide chemical / analytical / assay services for the metal industry. By exercising this role he was in 2019 officially appointed and sworn as an Expert at the chamber of commerce for sampling and assay of metals, ferroalloys, ores, raw materials and auxiliaries for the metal industry, as well as their intermediates and residues.
