Brian McClay is the Montreal-based president of BMA (Brian McClay & Associates Inc.), a global pulp industry market intelligence and management consulting services provider. Its subscribers account for roughly 80% of the world’s market pulp supply as well as many pulp buyers, agents, traders, logistics providers, banks and other entities in the global pulp supply chain. BMA was founded under the name TerraChoice Market Services Inc. in November 1997 after Brian’s 19-year career at the Canadian Pulp and Paper Association (CPPA), Canada’s national industry economics/statistics/advocacy organization. In 1978, he started as its Wood Pulp Statistician and departed in 1997 as Senior Vice-President responsible for government affairs and international trade and environment issues. Brian is also Chairman of Fort Mill, South Carolina-based, TTO LLC (Trade Tree Online), an independent, transactions-based pulp/paper net-price indices provider that was established in 2016. TTO publishes monthly open-market net-price indices for all major pulp grades and markets as well as for selected grades of recovered paper and tissue in North America. For China, TTO also publishes daily prices for wood and Bamboo pulp and several grades of paper & paperboard.

During his career, Andy has had stints in Bergen, Norway, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Vancouver, Canada before returning to Atlanta in 2010. Andy is a former member of the Trade and Transportation Advisory Council to the Atlanta Branch of the Federal Reserve and serves on the Board of Directors of the West Gulf Maritime Association. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina.

A French national with an economic background and a strong experience of public affairs at EU level, he is in daily contact with companies and EU institutions officials advocating on behalf of an industry sector striving for competitiveness, sustainability and jobs. He has an extensive network of contacts with the European Commission and Brussels-based organisations such as Businesseurope, the Alliance for a Competitive European Industry, the European Shippers’ Council and AEGIS Europe where he chairs the Carbon Border Adjustment Task Force. Trade, industrial policy and EU legislation impact assessment, competitiveness, business intelligence and transport are among his files. Bernard Lombard holds a Master in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Paris Nanterre and a degree in Business cycles analysis from the University of Paris-Dauphine.

Ricardo “Rick” Schiappacasse joined JAXPORT in Nov. 2013 and is Director, Forest Products and Specialty Cargo Sales. In this role, he is responsible for strengthening relationships and attracting new business in the areas of breakbulk, forest, fresh and frozen, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes, as well as growing trade between North Florida and Latin America. He is a veteran maritime professional with nearly 45 years of industry experience, including 22 years with the Maryland Port Administration. Most recently he served as Director of Latin America and the Caribbean while also overseeing forest product cargo for the Port of Baltimore. Rick has held positions with Maersk, Mediterranean Shipping Co., other steamship lines and maritime-related agencies. Rick is active within trade and transportation professional organizations and is Immediate Past International President for the International Propeller Club of the United States, responsible for 44 U.S. Ports and 33 International Ports. He has also served on the club’s Board of Directors for more than 10 years.

Mr. Mikki Koskinen (M.Sc Econ.) has been the Managing Director of Finnish-Swedish shipping company ESL Shipping Ltd, the leading carrier of dry bulk cargoes in the Baltic Sea with fleet of 44 ice class 1A vessels, since 2013. Since January 2024, Mikki Koskinen is serving as Vice-President of European Community Shipowners’ Association (ECSA). According to the established practice, the Vice-President is elected as President after the two-year term as Vice-President. Earlier, Mikki has served as the Chairman of the Board of the Finnish Shipowners’ Association in 2021-2023. Since 2016 until summer 2024, Koskinen has represented the Finnish Shipowners’ Association on the International Chamber of Shipping board, the global trade association for shipowners and operators. Mikki’s key area of expertise is sustainable shipping and increasing efficiency in maritime supply chains.
